Based on the silence I will assume I am the only one with this experience.
Thanks.

Re: Anyone else have a "halo" around the screen?
I'm not sure what is going on with it.
As a favor, would a couple of people turn the screen brightness and gamma up on theirs and let me know if this is normal or if I have an issue. If I keep the brightness and gamma way down I don't see it much at all.
Thanks in advance!

Anyone else have a "halo" around the screen?
Hello all,
My 605 is about 1 1/2 years old and like many has been in for repair a couple of times. Most recently I noticed a quarter of an inch around the edge of the screen where I see what looks like a halo over the picture. It is easiest to see when the I am watching something dark colored and ...

Re: Archos 10
All I can say is wow.
Maybe they should have spent the time they used to throw this together and fix my 605. If the browsing experience was acceptable us 605 people wouldn't be switching and might consider another Archos product. As of now, no way.

Re: New Firmwares? Have we been forgotten?
Well, That is disappointing.
I am torn. I love the video and movie playback and that is 75 % of what I bought if for. Nothing else does as well. + I use the Dish plug-in and that is a great feature.
However, I really expected to be able to use it for web browsing and flash video streaming. I ...

Re: New Firmwares? Have we been forgotten?
I hope that is not true.
I guess there is a reason Archos has remained a tier 3 maker of personal electronics. If they don't fix the flash issues many of us will be gone for good. It is hard to keep winning net new customers for every product when you run off all the old ones.

Well, like many of you, I keep plenty of badgers around. And after a while the dead ones just start piling up. It's great that I have now found something to do with them. I thought they were worthless.
I love the internet!

Re: Oh man I'm so conflicted here, another iPod Touch 2G vs. Arc
Well,
I'm sorry to be negative. I get frustrated when people come to a forum and trash products but I have to say I would really think twice and maybe three times before buying the Archos. I know bad issues get much more attention on forums and there is a higher percentage of complainers in product ...

Re: DVDFAB FREE after trial period?
With the current Euro to US$ conversion rate, the Slysoft products are very expensive for US customers. I use Fairuse Wizard and DVD43 and it works on about 95% of the DVD's I have backed up onto the Archos. Quality and speed are good. I have only found 2-3 DVD's where it didn't work. And DVD ...

Well, hopefully it is working for you now.....
I finally got it to work yesterday. I think they have fixed the server issue. I am the OP and I can tell you that I was pretty frustrated by the wait but at least it is working now. I went to the site and created a new plugin yesterday and now all is ...

Chakka,
I mostly agree. I almost always just buy the DVD for a couple of reasons:
1. Cinema Now and Unbox and iTunes are all too restrictive regarding what you can do with their movie. You pay $15 for an electronic copy that can only be played in whatever supported players they decide you can play ...
