I think you'll find it can go off every day! Just set recurrent alarm to on!
Very pleased with the new alarm function - in my opinion much more useful than Flash 9. I now don't need to fear falling asleep listening to music and missing my train stop!
I.. don't get it.
What's all the thrill about an alarm clock in a $300 fragile gadget ?
95% chances the $5 alarm clock you have at home is much more reliable and not as fragile as the Archos...
True especially if you knock it off your bedside table when you wake up. Then you wouldn't even have an archos!

BTW, archos devs, if ur french arrogance allows u to read a user forum, please do understand that when u offer Greeks a Greek keyboard, u MUST provide them a way to type in english web addresses. this is easy, microsoft knows it for over a decade, it is called language switch, its really just a fucking icon, so please implement just to show u are not retards -for the sake of ur fans-, personally i dont care anymore as i switched to sony, but i find it amusing u seem unable to grasp how vital this little bloody icon is for some of ur customers.
Took the words right out of my forced-english keyboard!!!
Only.. you're too kind with the words..

This also applies to web forms, etc..

I WROTE IT TO GET NOTICED. OOPS i mean i wrote it for effect anyways let's be honest it's not really shouting, it's just big letters. Plus no one is replying, i figured someone would respond, and guess what, they did, You!!!

I don't understand why they havent fixed this issue, we waited ages for the new firmware and they haven't fixed a fundamental and obvious problem. Ronan, do u have this problem too m8?

Well, I like the idea of an alarm clock on my Archos because I travel a lot and have to carry a portable. I think it would be a nice addition. The problem is, there is no snooze button - that I could find.

I don't know about you but I need a snooze button or it won't work for me.

Nah I dont use the ratings at all on mp3s, but Ill test it on 1.7.13 and Ill test it whenever I upgrade and Ill let you know what happens.

And big letters = shouting in internetland and is considered rude and irritating :p

AiOc, RonanC is right. In web posting parlance all caps is considered shouting and rathjer rude (unless you actually mean to shout).

If you need bigger letter just use

Code: Select all

The "size" tag
Regular text is about 10 or so and it goes up to 24

Don't forget to close the tag or you'll have huige text all the way to the end of your post.

Check the help faq for other ways to format your posts.

Hope that helps.

Flash 9 update won't work with NBC.com and Hulu.com?

Post by dramz »

I just updated to the newest firmware, 2.0.10, and streaming on sites like NBC and Hulu.com still won't work. Anyone know why, and how can I fix this?

Okay so I tested this with an album ripped to wma; stuck some various ratings on the songs using MediaMonkey, drag and dropped them to the 605, updated arclibrary and the ratings did not come across. Tried a reset, same deal. I guess its a bug whereby its not picking up on the ratings.

Perhaps if you used WMP to sync the device it would bring across the ratings; WMP seems to use different tags to everything else from what I can see, but personally Im not willing to jeaprodise my entire mp3 collection by using WMP to sync just for the sake of having ratings on my songs!

Does the new firmware solve the playback stuttering issue of the 80Gb version?

For a description of the problem:

Wireless update not possible?

Post by Kos »

When I try to update online I am told my device is already up-to-date - which it is not (firmware 1.8.07)... hm...

Anyway - as I read the firmware fixes the gadget is still not able to SHOW music for more than 90 seconds (even though technical support promise a fix again and again and again - some company). It's absurd with such an impressive screen... turned off. Let me be the judge of my power consumption!

Well Im a geologist so I spend a lot of time in small apartments in isolated areas with no hope of a wake up call! I have to do lots of travelling (especially on foot), so packing light is essential. So there you go, very useful for me! Unlike flash 9, which I may find useful in the future. Different aspects of the archos are useful for different people...

I bit the bullet and went from 1.7.13 to 2.0.10
mainly because .. I was having far too many crashes and recovery screen prompts in the past few weeks ..
and am happy to report ... my 605 hasn't crashed in 3 days now !
and yes the alarm clock feature + clock display in standby mode is a welcome feature ... at least for those of us who don't have a radio alarm clock

Good to know that they've fixed some bugs .. if not all !

Compared to 1.7.13 does it fix:

1. Wifi interference on headphone jack?
2. Constant crashes when editing music playlists?
3. Volume issues in 1.8.x?
4. Better wifi reception?
