Aldiko works pretty well for me on my 101
previously used ezPDF and that was pretty good, probably the best out of the lot but a) it costs and b) its nice to have all the formats supported in one reader like aldiko

would love them to do this. but we all know it'll never happen. communication isnt one of Archos' strong points.

had a 8gb 101 which stopped working one day and i sent it back to archos, 2 weeks later i got a shrinkwrapped new (presume it was anyway) unit.

trouble is, it seems to have a bluetooth issue in that it really doesnt want to see any discoverable ...

I've recently had my replacement 101 shipped which i updated to 2.3.20 and could not get my bluetooth headset to work with it. which it previously did with my old unit (running urukdroid)

Well my 101 was replaced yesterday. looks like if they cannot turn the unit on they don't bother or don't have the facilities to check for sde etc

Nothing was mentioned other that battery had failed. (Although not convinced it had)

i did phone them. i did ask. the guy on the end of the line a) didnt really seem to know what i was talking about and b) kept telling me that the only reason why they wouldnt replace was if i had broke the screen physically (which it is not)

now its not as though i believe him, but find it hard to ...

sympathies i too have suffered a death in the family. although mine was a suicide rather than the murder/droidslaughter yours suffered. the coffin is currently en route to france for what will presumably be a short and respectful funeral if they cannot perform any necromancy on it.

has anyone attempted to send back a device to archos for warranty repair/replace which has been SDE'd?

Mine got sent back last week and i'm really worried that they'll turn around and say that they wont do anything because i installed SDE (problem doesnt seem to be related to the system at all ...

Has anyone here had their SDE/rooted unit go faulty? If so what did you do? Did you return it to Archos? Will they still honor any warranty even if the hardware which failed bares no relevence to what SDE/rooting could cause (ie screen dies)?

currys have just told me that they have to inform users to deal directly with archos
just called them and they've given me an RMA number. still scared about the whole warranty/dev rom thing though (didnt have the nerve to mention it)

someone from archos has already confirmed that it isnt actually a build of flash that is what they'll be eventually releasing, but a rom including the optomisations (unsure as to why that exactly would mean that they couldnt release it until adobe have certified though?!!)
