Re: A70 IT: will it play movies recorded with A5 IT DVR ?

Archos does not copy protect anything, unless it already has copy protection on it - some ( most ) dvd's recorded onto the archos will only playback on that device, I have never come across a tv recording that was protected after recording it on the Archos

Not often but I did record Sherlock ...

Re: new firmware 2.3.26 - report bugs here

I don't think it's a question of taking time to test as it is the apparent fact that their tests, whatever they are, clearly don't reflect real-world usage.

Andrew,

An unfortunate misinterpretation of these devices using a single firmware image. They do have hardware differences that the firmware can't always mask. :(

Re: USB host and slave

I think that you'll end up needing to use a powered USB hub simply because of how little current is provided by the 70. That should then solve any power issues with a HD or any power hungry device. Obviously not a practical portable solution.

Oh I wish it was that easy :x I know from painful ...

Re: Long Touch problems

No. My first 101 I tried recalibrating loads of times. Was resorting to the touch really lightly stuff that other mention, but it was too annoying so I returned it, and bought another one. I get none of those issues at all. I can press as hard or light as I like, I can pick up an icon and move it ...

The headset I am using (mostly trouble free, only occasional dropouts of less than 1 second) can be seen here http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=106733 . Work with all my Archos devices quite well, excellent battery life and charge retention.

I got them some time ago when ...

Re: USB Host Port not working with new FW

@JTC I've already measured 5V line of my A101IT USB-Host port (I'm chulri @ xda). Still ok, but data lines seem broken even though client mode (micro usb) is still working :doubt:

What voltage should I receive on the data lines?

In a host/client USB connection which end drives the bus? The data ...

Re: Bluetooth connection issues with my 101

Not a lot of help to your specific case but I can confirm the stock music player works perfectly (well as good as it does without) with my bluetooth headset which is a cheap set (less than $20). I can pause music tracks and return, close the app and re-open it, background it and back again all ...

Re: Downgrade with SDE help

Hi folks,

Can anyone talk me through installing SDE and downgrading to an older firmware?

I know it voids the warranty, but the newest firmware is laggy as hell and id rather have a tablet I can use than a £250 paper weight.

Where can I find a download of older, stable firmwares?

Other (older ...

I believe (but have not tried it myself) that installing the Archos SDE does allow you to go back to earlier firmware installs.

However, the decision to install the SDE should not be taken lightly. ...

I would really like to know in advance next time.

Re: Price Changes for A43, A70 and A101 on Archos.com

I am reminded of the old joke whose punchline was something like "...well, when we haven't got any, our prices are cheap as well"

Seriously though, if your A101 is faulty, surely it is still covered by warranty OR have you found it necessary to install the (warranty busting) SDE in an attempt to ...

Re: help-need to go back to firmware 2.0.71-how is this done

Starting to look like, once again Archos have introduced an arbitary "thou shalt not return" restriction into f/w 2.1.08. I know from personal experience reverting from 2.1.04 to 2.0.71 was possible in the usual simple fashion discussed here.

Too many people reporting inability to do same from 2.1 ...
