So far I love this little tablet. The only real let down has been the host adaptor...for me it is totally useless..it hasnt recognized anything I have plugged into it (including little 2&4gb flash drives). Has anyone found a self powered hub that will rectify this problem? Also..has anyone bought the extra battery/extender they are selling on ebay?

Before I stump up for one of these, does this allow you to simultaneously use a USB HDD, USB Mouse and USB keyboard with an Archos 70S ie the 8GB flash version? With regularity and no errors of course, I already have a hub that only works when I'm not looking
Thanks for the info
Dave

Do you mean a battery powered hub?
If so then I have used this:
http://hqrp.com/targus-pauh210u-usb-2.0 ... t-hub.html
with a battery powered cell phone charger that has a USB port on it. Plug the red USB cable of the hub into the battery pack and the black into a micro USB adapter (I have the Nokia one).
I have not used this much but I can run a USB mouse, keyboard and memory stick at the same time. I have not tried a hard drive, but powered hard drives already work on my A70 without using the hub.
YMMV.
(Thanks for the link about the battery charger, I might get one of those.)
Edit: This is the portable cell phone charger I use:

The rechargeable AA's that came with it were rubbish - I replaced them with Sanyo Eneloops which are wonderful batteries.

I've got the same results as Denali21 for my A70. I've tried a powered port but to no avail. It's almost like the port isn't turned on. What are the procedures you folks have used that made it work? I really want to use the A70 to act as temporary storage for camera photos that I take on an upcoming trip. This is supposed to work according to the documentation.

Camera is a self powered device and should work directly from the host cable - both mine do

I can confirm this hub also works for me. I have a HDD, powered by the hub using a Y-cable, Microsoft Wireless USB KB and Mouse combo all plugged in and working fine with my A70S.
Bad news for people in the UK anyway, Maplins are discontinuing this device right now and only have stock in the shops (not available Mail Order) but at least it is substantially reduced if you can find one.
Was miffed with the issues with the Host USB on the A70 but chuffed now
Thanks a lot to 900i for the heads-up
Dave
