Pineal wrote:In case anyone still wants a screen protector I went to Walmart and got a sheet of the thinnest vinyl covering they had. All you have to do is cut the right size out of it and lay it across the screen for a cheap screen protector. Worked fine on my 43 but theres some bubbles under mine since I cut it a little to big.
Quite a few stores sell screen protectors for LCD monitors(Why someone puts a screen on a 19in monitor I have no idea, but whatever...). I bought one screen about 2 years ago and have cut little things out of it for every device I've bought since. I've used it on both resistive and capacitive screens. Cost was something like $8-$10 and I've gotten 3 protectors out of it already.

The nice thing is, the screen is now on level with the bevel, so it's now a bit easier to hit the space bar.

Are you saying the screen protector you have applied overlaps on to the glossy frame? or that the Screen protector is so thick it fills the recessed space where you have the screen?
The latter. They did a pretty good job cutting it. There's less than half a millemeter gap on all four sides between the protector and the bezel. Just enough so that it doesn't pop itself out when it expands from the heat.

Walmart has Static cling screen protectors for the Ipad.
They cover the entire Ipad so can be cut to fit the 101.
The good thing is they are scratch resistant, reduce glare and work with touch screen and stylus.
You get two for $14. and change.

Falcixx - Durasec
http://www.durasec.com/catalog/index.php?language=en

They are German based, I am US based, but still order from them. These screen protectors are the highest quality I have ever seen. The high end protectors are self healing and shock absorbing, really have to be seen to understand; I have used them on iPod Touch, various Nokia's, G1, etc and never have been disappointed.

I have asked them to create a protector for myA70, but they want the dimensions. For those of you that have cut your own, what dimensions would you recommend? If you own other devices, post the dimensions of your protector and I will forward them to Falcixx, perhaps they will create for all the Gen8 line.

Thanks.

I just went to the mall during lunch and had the ZAGG Invisishield guys put an iPad back on mine. They cut it perfectly and put it on. Didn't even charge extra to cut it to fit. Been playing with it and no change with the touch screen. :)

That was clever. The front iPad protector had a hole so it didn't fit, so use the back film instead :)

$30. Not the cheapest, but I've always used them and like them.

Yeah, I asked for a front and that little home button hole was slighly showing, so I asked if they had just the iPad back and the rest is history :)

Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that my favorite protector manufacturer has cut one sized for the A70 (155mm x 91mm).

It is available here: http://www.durasec.com/catalog/advanced ... e0&x=0&y=0

They are German so if you live in UK or EU then this maybe be cheaper/faster for you.

What's weird is the Archos 70 one is only $10, but the 101 is $30! Doesn't make much sense to me.

I was thing the same thing and don't see how a little bit more material would cost so much more. The only thing I can think of is the A70 had a much lower start-up cost because it is similar to the Archos 7 Home Tablet compared to the A101 start-up costsfor them.

just picked up one of these. easy to put on. no bubbles. about 1mm gap around edge of screen. touch sensitivity still good. seems to cut a lot of glare.

After the purchase they contacted by email to confirm my device and when I told them "Archos 70" I was informed they didn't have those yet. Even though they were listed in the auction.

He offer to custom cut me one if I got him the specs and seemed pretty nice but before I could reply again. (was a busy day) I had a shipped notification. I guess he got tired of waiting to hear back.

So no CLUE whats on the way.

Update. They sent me a generic one thats too wide and not tall enough.

GREAT!
I just ordered and they shipped last night. (Same seller name) They confirmed that they were sending me screens for the A70 model. So, looks like they have them now.

did this one work well for you?

Have you tried the Liquid Nano screen protector? I am curious to know what that one is like. Raising the contrast sounds good to me :)
