Re: Anyone tried resoldering the power/USB port?
The contacts on the micro USB port are just about inaccessible for rework. There is a plastic component behind it which appears to be part of the camera lens, and the space between that and the body of the port is only 1.25mm, not nearly adequate to do a re-solder job. There are five soldered ...

Re: Official 4.0.28 released - report bugs
Most likely it is a problem with the connectors. I found that I could not charge at all, then pressing down on the connector would result in the unit charging. The cable connector on the original charger just gave up, so replaced the charger with one from RadioShack that gave me slow charge only ...

Re: Official 4.0.28 released - report bugs
Have you updated to the latest published version, and if so have you found any problems or obvious improvements over the initial release of 4.0.28?

Re: Let's get serious about the G9 for a moment
I have no problems with my G9 running the current ICS release, but there have been problems with some apps when updating to JB. Google it for more information. The one that I am personally familiar with is AnywhereMap Freedom, an aviation mapping app. It runs fine on ICS on my Archos, but not on JB ...

Re: Let's get serious about the G9 for a moment
There appears to be a fair number of problems with apps that fail to run under JB, Google it. I am happy with 4.0.26, WiFi and GPS work fine for me. Now if only that charging system were more reliable!

Re: Another slow charge thread
Unfortunately we are stuck with a poor design concept, and I say that as one who has spent his long working life as an electronics engineer. The micro USB is a flimsy device, using a power input connection concept that originated in Chin for cell phones. The addition of a dedicated power input ...

Re: GPS is not working for me
I find that doing a reboot and then running GPS Doctor results in my being able to connect. Right now, inside the house, I am locked on with from 4 to 7 out of 7 satellites in use. That is with the latest software 4.0.26 on a 101G9.

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!
I still have not had my issues addressed. The constant random reboots are extremely annoying. I have also recently noticed that my notifications in the lower right task bar no longer work. Since the last update I no longer receive any notifications at all. Charging of my battery is still hit or ...

Under Settings - Display -Sleep, optional times from 15 seconds up to 30 minutes can be selected. I would like to see never added here.

Screen Display on TV
With my new 101G9 I followed the rather simple instructions in the on line manual to display the Archos screen on a TV. I puchased the HDMI cable and tried with two different TV sets. On one, just a blank screen with the correct input port selected. On the other it told me that the resolution was ...
