There is a difference between hard to read which I would consider something I need to look at and read for a moment and almost impossible to read first time.

It is not a big deal, just an annoyance and this site is one of the very few sites I have ever had any trouble reading a CATCHPHA image.

Yes, its part of the google market install or you can install it manually from the market if you elect not to install the google apps.

I have had this twice so far. It was resolved by plugging it in and after a few moments holding in the power button.
When it comes up, the battery had been pretty much drained but the last time it was used the night before it would have been about 80% or more.

Something must be draining the battery ...

Don't know about mini as I use HD but in HD there is a setting to only view desktop pages.

I don't have the paid codec pack but I have yet to come across a video that does not play. That said I have only watched about 4 movies on it so I am not sure if they were AC3 or not.

I entered the wrong password a few times and I had to enter a CATCHPHA but on the Archos 101 it was impossible to read. I got home and used my laptop and imagine my surprise that it is still very hard to read. I entered it wrong a couple of times on my laptop.
