Lol, you can turn it off on the main screen (all sound, sound effects only, no sound), and it'll remember the setting for next time.
Its one of those things, without sound you dont get the full effect at first, but i understand it gets anoying when you listen to it for ages lol!
LOL! Okay thanks ...

Re: Walkabout - Cute tablet game :)
Purchased as well. Lovely and very original game!
The background music is a bit enerving though. At one point I thought my 101 hung, so I turned the volume all the way down.

Re: CoPilot 8 Screen issue (Archos 101)
Hi apensity
It's basicly an issue with Archos' use of soft buttons, and it only occurs in landscape view. As far as I understand it, the screen is redrawn before the software buttons are loaded which causes the distorted image. Try turning to portrait and notice how the screen returns to normal ...

Nice find! Although BarcodeScanner 3.53 also seems to work now with front-faced cameras.

ebuddy and appslib issues?
Hi everyone
I recently reformatted my Archos again to install the v5 version of gApps4Archos. Everything works great, but for some reason I can't seem to install ebuddy anymore. It keeps saying "Unknown issue -17" when I download it from Market. So I thought of installing it from Appslib since all ...

Re: CoPilot Live Problem
Hey guys, sorry to barge in on this topic, but since you all seem to be using CoPilot Live I have to ask: does the newest update of CoPilot still have the graphical issue in landscape when you go out of the program? I'm very interested in the software, but I don't want to restart the program and ...

Re: Whats my serial number - A101
The serial number is located on the back of the device right next to the bar code. It's easy to miss as it's in a very small print, but it's there.

Re: Car bracket?
I ordered the Gomadic car holder for my Archos 101 for Christmas, received it today and it doesn't fit. Looks like the send me the Archos 70 version, it's too narrow. Now I notice they don't even offer it anymore, what a sham!

Re: Archos RMA is a joke
Sounds to me like TNT is more to blame for losing your package. I agree that the whole process you had to get through to get your broken unit picked up is far from common, but most of the times the people who mess things up are the couriers and not the manufacturers. I had a similar bad experience a ...

Re: Crash, crash frequently
The crashes might have been related to the use of iGO, as except for the first crash yesterday while playing Angry Birds it was a lot less frequent (let's say once every few days, and I don't use it heavily).

I don't know if I should be sad or glad that I'm not the only one experiencing a lot of freezes/crashes. :|

Re: Just reset the CPU to 1000 MHZ and WOW!
1000MHz makes a huge difference in Froyo, man! Unfortunately it also causes a lot of freezes. :? Had to reset my device this morning after only 10 minutes of 1000MHz goodness and as far as I noticed I was still able to get temp root and set it back to 1GHz. Didn't have a lot of time left to ...

Re: QR code photo by A70 or A101
It works perfectly when you mirror the code first. The reason is simple: the 70 and 101 have a front facing camera which records mirrored images. IMHO it's a flaw that needs to be fixed (otherwise you cannot show messages through the cam) or at least an option to activate a mirror mode should be ...

@FZelle
Thanks for the quick reply. It's on auto though. I might try setting a fixed channel cause my neighbour networks may be interfering somehow. I don't get it, it worked perfectly fine right before I updated, I had 5 bar reception with my D-Link DIR-655. Heck it's 10 feet away, even when I ...

Euhm, anyone else who can no longer connect to their wifi network?
I have an N network which worked fine with firmware 1.0.84 but now it doesn't even find my home network (router is not even 10 feet away in the same room). The network list is much smaller than before. It seems it only detects G ...

No that's not what I meant.
I have a Nokia E63. I am going to buy a car holder (I called it kit previously, but I mean holder + charger really) for my Archos 101 because I want to use it as a GPS and as in-car entertainment when I don't need directions. I would indeed pair my Nokia to my Archos ...

accept calls with Archos 101 over bluetooth
Hi everyone
I own a Nokia E63 mobile phone and I'm planning on buying a car kit for my Archos 101 8GB tablet. I was wondering if there is a way/app to accept calls from my mobile phone on my Archos like some GPS devices (TomTom, Garmin, Mio ...) can? That way I could use my Archos as a sort of ...
