I can't understand how people can say it's too expensive in UK the Archos cost £270 while tablets like the Motorola xoom and Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 cost £330 and £400.

ok so i've played very little,but first thing i hit is if my a101 sleeps immediately after boot, it will not wakeup and i have to hard boot. happens every time. if i turn the screen off and on once before it sleeps on its own thrn its fine.

the real key is if it could support 4.1 or better 5.11 it would stream blu-ray with re-encoding. If it can't then honestly you're better re-encoding to 720p to match the native display. What's quoted now are the same specs as most of the tegra 2s

Just one note on this is that i believe htc actually chose to pay the license fees for gheir devices to avoud any potential issues. Its really the device manufacturers ghat stand to lose here as they are the ones actually putting the dvm out to the market.

yes it will PLAY full HD,HOWEVER the point I am trying to make is that does not mean it plays back blu-ray hd without re-encoding. Many people will read full hd and interpret as Blu-ray standards.IF that is the case then re-encoding to 1080p for a device that has a 720p native resolution is a waste ...

no question the gen 8 plays 720p just fine as do the tegra2 devices with 3.1.

however bluray is h.264 l5.1 at 1080p or vc-1 at 1080p. reading specs neither of these will play on gen 9. thats the only point i'm trying to make. too many people here throw around vague statemments about thing like this ...

I'm actually surprised by how many people care about the 1080p on tablets. I find it extremely annoying to have to connect a HDMI cable, which is the only time 1080 matters. Now give me something like airplay for android and I'd be all over it. :)
