I had the same thing happen to mine. I had to reboot the archos and the machine as well, but that did the trick.

biggest problem I have with gAppsInstaller_v5-final.apk is the fact that apps I need don't appear even after doing the Market Fix as described above.

Apps that will not appear in Market even after doing hack multiple times:
Google Maps
Google Voice
Swiftkey
Zeam

I'd been wondering the same thing. Use a router with dd-wrt and I haven't seen my Archos 101 connect at anything above 54mbps since updating from 2.2.1 firmware (including 2.0.5.4 and 2.0.7.4)

Archos 5 is listed in the second box below the list of Gen8 devices.
