I don't know if your Archos or different than mine, but I really wish people would resist arguing against the volume issue. The more arguing that goes on, the more likely Archos is to ignore the issue. I doubt that you would MIND having more volume capability - but arguing that it's not an issue ...

the volume is an issue regardless of what you others are experiencing. there clearly is something wrong and we aren't getting the peak performance. i mainly want to use it in my car and my car audio is perfect when using a cd and even after adjusting the EQ i can't really reach the levels i want ...

I get like that sometimes when I see someone with an iTouch or an iPhone, but then I think of all the things that my 605 can do that the Apples cant, not to mention the ridiculously bigger hard drive in my 605, and I just chuckle to myself and leave the person be with their pretty but lame device ...

yeah it was really one of the first times i had seen someone browsing with the touch that's why i was so intrigued. i'm definitely happy with my archos and as a poster said archos has a lot more enabled as far internet browsing goes, compared to the touch.
