Re: TV Scheduler...won't turn on the receiver?
While the 605 is docked, go into Settings|TV Control, then click "Set Infrared Emitter". Then click, "Test Channel Select". Then click "Manual settings". There is a setting, "Switches on with". Try each of the three options, "Any key", "Power", or "Any channel".

Re: Firmware 2.1.04 bugs
On my unit, the Recorder Settings Settings for "TV Program Guide Reminder" often reverts to:
Remind me if Data has: "less than three Days"
I try to keep this setting configured for "less than one Week"
Generally, the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) doesn't work well for me. Often it takes my unit ...

Re: Directv R22-100 DVR Emitter Codes
I don't have my dock, and without its connection, my 605 won't give me the menu to see the settings. If I remember correctly, in the Set Infrared Emitter settings, there is an option to configure additional settings, such as emitter delay and whether to prefix zeros.

Try fiddling with the advanced settings for pre-pending zeros, etc.

Re: Firmware 2.1.04 bugs
I don't know if this bug is particular to 2.1.04, because I only recently installed the Web Radio plugin.

Re: text on the 605wifi
Here is a lazy way. If you have two 605's, then pipe the output of the video on the first 605 to be recorded on the second 605. On the first 605, use the Notepad widget or some more appropriately modified version that allows you to type and to display your text, so that it is displayed out to video ...

Re: text on the 605wifi
Actually, I'm serious! Who can help write a widget to implement a virtual keyboard terminal, that buffers the keystrokes and encodes the sequence to be played out as PCM audio? Keep versatility in mind, so that the widget can be ported to other handheld web/audio devices for compatibility.

Re: text on the 605wifi
I've been brainstorming off-the-wall for a solution along these lines:
Hack a standalone low-power text input device, some sort of keyboard logger or Morse code key, that transduces input characters into an audio signal that can be recorded by the DVR dock, and then decoded back into text later on ...

Automatic Sequential Play of Radio Podcasts
I'd like the Music Player to sequentially play all the Web Radio Podcasts that appear in a particular Genre folder, automatically, without user intervention. But the Music Player will only play single podcasts on demand.

Re: Firmware 2.1.04 bugs
I installed the Web TV & Radio Plug-in today. With this plug-in, Archos has reignited my enchantment with the 605 WiFi, drawing me back yet again to dole out several more allotments of time and money.

It worked temporarily for me. When I docked and ran "Update" via wireless,
the Electronic Program Guide reverted back to nagging that my subscription
will expire.
