Re: USB Powered External Hard Drive Support for 705 Wifi
No, you need external power to make a 320GB drive spin, the Archos just doesn't supply enough power. Get a SimpleTech 320-it comes with a "y" cable (two usb's) plug the data/power end into the Archos and the other end (just a power usb) into a powered usb hub or an AC plug with a usb socket (like an ...

Re: USB Powered External Hard Drive
You can try a 1.8" drive such as those made by Apricorn, They work just fine without external power. I have a 120GB and a 160GB, however they no longer make the 160GB

My archos unit also has a low volume. I will not be using on a plane anytime soon, fortunately. I find the internal speakers too low at least 50% of the time. I purchased folding LG speakers which are really basic (no volume), I think they are actually for a cellphone. However, the volume is twice ...

You can download photos and videos from your digital camera by just using the usb host cable supplied. You do not need the dvr station or the travel adapter. You only need these two items to record. Unlike he 605, the usb host as well as the av out capability is actually built into the 705 itself ...

I can no longer use the search function on Amazon.com after updating. I contacted Archos and the good news is they got right back to me (they alway do). The bad news: Their suggestion was I needed to update to the new firmware. Well, that what I did in the first place and that's what I told them I ...

Re: You need this if you have updated to 1.8.3
The 1.8.3 update affects the 705's ability to access some websites. It will not see some routers and the machine will run way, way slower. The 1.8.5 corrects this problem (although nothing in Archos says this.)
I have not updated to 1.8.03 or 1.8.05. I still have 1.7.13. Do you think that ...

When I press multisession, it then tells me to pick one episode out of the six. I can't make it run them all at once. Would it be possible for someone to place a mini-walkthrough on here?

However, after reading this thread, I make sure the battery is fully charged and the problem seemed to have been corrected. But then it happened when I started recording after the ...

I've been using the directions to rip found in this forum's Stickie using the FairUse Wizard. It has been working great.
The only problem I had was that although the newly ripped file would play perfectly on my PC, after transferring it to my 605 the audio/video would be out of sync. The solution ...
