Anyone made any further progress with Windows 8 please ??

Just installed it via an upgrade from W7 and damn does it take a long time, but it's not usable.

I've installed the latest GMA drivers from Archos FTP site, plus the latest Galaxy drivers. but still not touch screen.

Gonna try this out.

Installed the OS and added the touchscreen and mouse workarounds.
Everything works just fine, sound, screen mouse usb wifi etc..

What were the "touchscreen and mouse workarounds" please ??

Did you get the built-in KB to work, or did you use some other piece of software ??

Installs OK and works fine with a USB kb & mouse, but no touchscreen or Archos built-in KB & mouse.

What type of movies are you trying to play ??

I have 720p playing no problem, but 1080p does stutter abit, but I think that's becuase the A9 isn't MAN enough for 1080p.

That's sarcastic. With a powerless 1.2GHz CPU and only 1Gb RAM the A9 isn't really designed for Win7.

WinXP runs better on the A9.

Is your Archos 9 set up as a tablet PC ?? Check in Control Panel->System and see if it says "Pen and Touch: Single Touch Input Available".

If not, you may need to install the latest ...

Apart from copying off the software and drivers that come with it, I trashed the disk and installed W7 Pro.

The drivers and software are available from Archos' FTP site, so you don't need to copy ...
