Photos of 160GB/Mini Review (on ArchosLounge)

Does anyone know where I can see detailed photos of the 160gb and the 30gb side by side or can anyone tell me if there is much of a difference in the physical size of the 2 units

Thanks N@styatak, I was afraid that the 160gb would be a lot bulkier than the 30gb but it doesn't look too bad in those pictures

That Archos 160 looks beat up already. Its nice they make the buttons with a tactile surface this time. Anyone know what that big long button on the top is for? I don't see it on the 30gb model.

??? The image above is 605 "s" and 605 "h". And the "h" is both longer and thicker and has different buttons on top. WTF!! What's "s" and "h"? I've never heard of them before.

The Archos site has these dimensions for the 30, 80, and 160gb models:

Avg 122 x 82 x 15 mm/4.8'' x 3.2'' x 0.6'' (For 4/30GB* models) - 150gr/190gr
Avg 122 x 82 x 20 mm/4.8'' x 3.2'' x 0.75'' (For 80/160GB* models) - 260gr

The only difference is the thickness, as the link i gave above visually shows.

Yeah I don't get that picture he showed there. The one on the left (supposedly the 30GB) has that more silver looking face, and Black lettering for the Archos name instead of Green. What is up with that? It is a completely different size than the one in the middle, which I guess is the 160GB 605. This doesn't jive with the dimensions Archos has on their site for the 30GB and 160GB 605.

The pictures from above are the preproduction 'review' pictures. The units being delivered here in the US do not have the 'H' on them and the lower have of the edge and back are grey color. You can see examples in the wi-fi trouble thread...

The two 605 were prototypes. Not final release.

Good photos in this mini review from our friends.

The sockets underneath are well to one side (maybe to allow room for that massive hard drive?) so I guess it will sit off center in the DVR Station which might look a bit odd.

Surprinsingly it seems archos is not right about the size diferences between archos 605 160GB and 30GB versions. If you notice the comparison between 605 30GB and 605 160Gb and 604 on the photos of the preproduction models you clearly see that the 605 H is wider.

Now compare the size of the monitor frame on the left and the right on both 605s. The 30GB version has smaller frame on the left and the right than the 160GB which accounts for the wider size.

Now notice the archoslounge mini-review of the 605 160GB. It has the same size on the frame than the pre-production version meaning it's also wider than the 30GB.

Am I wrong? Anyone can compare a bought 160GB with a 30GB side by side?
