Hey everyone!

Just wondering if it is possible to use subtitle files (*.sub or *.srt) the way they are used in windows media player...

Im not even sure if the archos has the option so if someone could help me out, then great!

PocketDiVXEncoder has the ability to add a subtitle file when encoding.
I dont know how you select it on the Archos whilst playing the film or wether or not it is on there all the time and you cant turn them off.
I haven't tried it myslef so can't comment.

None of the Archos' provide separate file subtitle support I'm afraid. It has been requested many times.

I still rip/encode with FairUse and save the .sub/.idx files so I have them if they ever add it. I also purchased a Philips DVP5960/37 that has DiVx subtitle support and USB port on the front. For those times I need to display them (I live with a person that has some trouble hearing), I connect the AV500 (with the .avi/.sub/.idx - or .srt files) to the USB port on the Philips. Then playing through the Philips I can toggle subtitles off/on. Something to consider if you need it when outputting to the TV.
