reinstall Android
Hi,
In april 2012 I purchased the Archos 101 G9, when I turnd it on, the tablet update it self,
after that, the tablet want respond.
That happens a few times.
After reset it too factory settings, it works again.
The last time I dit this, accidentally I formated the disk.
So android is removed, and I dont get it back on the tablet.
Now after a few years in the closet, I hope someone can tell me, how too install
android, so I can use the tablet again.
Regards
Paul

Re: reinstall Android
Archos.com should have the firmware file... I guess you drop it in with USB, then unplug. Actually the archos support download page should say how

Re: reinstall Android
Hi viking,
I have already done that a few times, but the fact is, my computer dont see the disk of my
tablet. I think the disk must by mounted. When I make the usb connection I see the disk in my explorer, but I cant approach the disk. Thats the whole issue I think.
One thing I now, what I did whas verry stupid.
The first thing I must doo, make the disk approachable, and how, thats the big question.
Maybe you, or someone else, nows how to do it

Re: reinstall Android
To reinstall the firmware:
1) download the firmware off Archos' website and save to your computer
2) with the tablet turned OFF
3) hold volume down key and press power button DO NOT LET GO OF THE VOLUME DOWN KEY
This will start the tablet into recovery. Once there you can let go of the volume down key
4) Using the volume down key arrow down to the selection Update Firmware
5) Use the power button to select Update firmware. Hook up your data cable from tablet to computer
With the cable connected you should have a drive show up on your computer. copy the firmware file to that drive.
6) Once the file transfer is finished use the power button to choose OK on the screen.
Your tablet should now start the firmware update procedure. Leave the usb connected to help power the tablet as you do NOT want the tablet to power off as this could brick your tablet.

Hi Thundertiger ,
Thank you for your comment,
I took your advice, but no result.
The system gives error message, “update failed(221).
But the disk is to approachable, thats good.
But when I look again to the disk, he is emty, what I put in it, its gone.
But there is a start, I get some hope!
I hope you know what the error message means
The tablet came whits Android 3.2.
Is it posible that I need this version
Regards
Paul

Re: reinstall Android
I have heard of people having that problem before. But I do not know how to fix it as this is an Archos problem.
I don't know if it will work but I have copies of older firmwares (4.0.7 or 3.2.
for my Archos 101 G9 Turbo that I have kept. I have uploaded 4.0.7 to my google drive. You can see if maybe this will work. I could also upload the old 3.2.8 if you want but if you keep getting the Update Failed message then I don't know how to help. You would have to send it back to Archos for them to fix it.

Hi Thundertiger ,
Indeed, there were a lot of problems at that time, which I had also. I have 2 tablets, the other now works excellent. You may also upload 3.2.8. I have also sent an email to Archos, Until now no response.
