No Sound when playing .mkv files

I can play .mkv files but there is no sound. Archos specs states .mkv support. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm not familiar with your hardware or software, but some questions come to mind. Is mkv simply a container that is allowed to include video or audio tracks requiring special codecs? Can you install mx player app, which can kind of simulate many codecs and at least limp thru them?
