IMHO: Lousy product quality, lousy customer service and a ridiculously unfocussed range of products.
I think that they are done.

Re: Is Archos nearing death?
Archos is the only European company of its kind and they still provide the best value. How can 50€ Million in revenues per quarter for a small company with just 100 employees be considered bad by anyone? Of course Archos had top sub-400€ tablet market share in Europe for 2011, since then Asus, Acer, Lenovo and many others have copied Archos so it's only normal that Archos market share has decreased but they still sell over 2 million tablets per year which is great.
Re: Is Archos nearing death?
I've been wondering the same thing...
I mean, the last time I tried an Archos product I was left underwhelmed... in fact, I'm not even using them as strictly MP3 players anymore and quite frankly I think their offerings were lacking in AUDIO quality
The only product I still consistently use is the old Archos 7 (my 605WiFi is dead)
BTW, on their page I'm not seeing MP3 players anymore!
Are they just making phones and tablets AND QUIT MAKING WHAT PUT THEM ON THE MAP?!?!?! (i.e. DAPs?!?)
Right now I'm using a Cowon C2 and will probably get a D20 or maybe a FiiO X3/X5.
