Question about emulators
Question about emulators
Hi all,
Managed to grab one of these Gamepads the other day, due for delivery hopefully tomorrow...
Now, I am a HUGE emulator fan, so my question is....are the various emu's in the Android store the ones to go for? or are there other versions elsewhere that I should be looking at.
The ones I would like are....
Mame
Snes
Megadrive/Genesis
N64
Those are my faves, but given this devices spec are there any others that run well?
Any help would be appreciated for this old newbie (42yrs lol)
Thanks
Dave

Except mame, all the emulators you ask have been removed. Im on the way to end a package of the best emulators for this gamepad.

Re: Newbie !!
Nooooo !! you are joking !!!!
I think I'm going to cry lol, looks like I'll have to do some searching
I don't believe this, and I was soooo excited to finally have a handheld capable of great emulation...

Re: Question about emulators
I use SNESDroid for SNES, My Boy! free for GBA (it seems ok and is free), Frodo for c64 and UAE4Droid for Amiga.
And SCUMMVM for (scumm) adventure games.
Looking into ps1 and n64 emulators.. but haven't really tried any out.

Re: Question about emulators
Although I have always been a huge fan of FPSE. EPSXE seems to run a lot better on the gamepad. Much smoother framerates etc. Think it is just better optimised for the Mail 400 GPU.

Re: Question about emulators
You need to check this guy out, his emulators are by far the best for android and iOS, he still hasn't done an n64 one though, and the snes one can be downloaded from his website for free at the moment...

I recommend mapping the buttons manually within each emulator and not using the archos on screen mapping. You then need to go Input/Player Mapping and switch HID gamepad to number 1, the emulator will not remember this particular setting but only takes a second to re-apply. it's to do with the way the gamepad has been made and the author of the emulators has told me he's going to fix this in an update, when he updates something, usually it applies to ALL his emulators as well
For N64 keep your eye on this guy, he's releasing snapshots for free at the moment, works great with the gamepad but some games still have issues, he's constantly fixing at the moment though...

n64oid also seems to be quite good though.
