I rarely return anything unless its dead on arrival, so don't go by me. Have you looked into programs that flash the pixels off and on a million times to try to revive it? I had a dead or stuck-on pixel on an archos that after many months corrected itself. That was when pixels were bigger and more noticeable when bad, and that archos manual said at least 3 bad pixels were needed to be considered defective enough to be returnable.

That was the first thing i tried without any luck i just think it should still be classed as a fault aswhen playing games on a black screen it is quite noticable.

This is the same with any product with a display. I know it sucks, I have had devices before with dead pixels but they are quite common and most manufacturers wont accept returns unless there are about 10pixels or a cluster. It also depends on what colour it is stuck on etc.

Most companies have a rule of three dead pixels before a refund/exchange, at least in the US.

Not of any importance, since it was a "used" 80 G9 that I bought that had 2 dead pixels...

Of more importance though is that it is REALLY a well know fact that most companies do not accept returns of any device with a display that has less than 3 dead pixels... unless they are all grouped close together. You can find that info by just doing some Google searching.

This is NOTHING new to tablets (or even cellphones), nor does it even specifically apply to only LCD type of displays either.

My friend "thought" it would never be a problem with his DLP projector... until I told him to go up close to the projection screen and really look closely at things. He almost immediately found 3 dead pixels that he had not noticed. A few months later he found even a couple more.

Some sellers will accept returns for ANY reason, but you have to be sure to find that out BEFORE you buy. As for Archos directly... well, I'm sure their "dead pixel" policy if about the same as most other companies (minimum 3 dead). But, then again, that is pretty much how it is here in the U.S.A. for any display device (even HD TV's).
