Help a newbie out Please

i am a newbie and have only had my tablet a short while but i seem to be having problems with installing apps, i have arctools and google play installed but when checking it seems my internal memory for apps is set at 500mb!

I have an Arnova 10d g3 with 8 gb internal and an 8gb external card installed. Can any one help me with this problem of the limited memory for my apps; i can only install a limited amount and i always get "not enough memory" popping up, and when i try to update apps i have to unistall things first.

Any advice/help would be gratefully accepted.
