Files application and stored passwords

Hi all, Archos 70 and Archos 80 with same problem: after changing the password on my NAS, the Archos cannot connect to the SMB shares exported by the NAS anymore using the Files application. From other devices this works fine, and also using ES File Explorer on my Archoses it works fine.
The Archos Files application asks for user id / password, but after entering the new password it still cannot connect. Even using another user id (with the right password) does not work for connecting to shares for which the Archos has saved the original user id / password using the Files application ...

So, does anybody know where the Files application stores its saved user ids and passwords and how to clear this? Thanks in advance, Menno.

Have you tried going in settings/apps and choosing ALL, then FILES. Then clear data?

Hi, first I tried Clear Cache, and later Clear Cache + Clear Data for the Files application, but that did not make a difference. It does not solve the problem. I still cannot connect to SMB shares using the Files application, while ES Explorer works fine. Same problem on both my Archos 70 and 80, which started after changing my NAS (the SMB share server) password.

So ... does anybody have a suggestion on how to clear all saved user id/password information from the Files application? I do prefer Files to ES Explorer.

Sorry that didn't work, my bad. I also see in settings/wireless & networks tap "more", there is a shared folders settings to setup names and passwords.

Thank you, problem solved on both Archos'. Never noticed that "shared folder" option before in Settings ....

PS: what might have played a role for this problem to occur: I had the user/passwd for several shares, all served from the same server (NAS), saved on the Archos. I also had a saved user/passwd for which I do not understand where it came from. It was the parent directory of all the shares. However, I don't think I ever had it configured in such a way that it needed a user id/passwd at the level ... ?
