Updated the firmware on my 70 250 gb last night. Was watching a video this morning and it started to play in slow motion. Was able to stop it and return to home page. Went for a reboot but unit will not switch off. Has been trying now for about 20 minutes to switch off.
Looks like I now have got a bricked unit...cheers Archos, cant even take battery out like I could on previous archos devices either.

Try holding down the power button for 10 seconds. The power light should flash, and then turn off.
