SDHC or SD Card???

Just bought an Archos 405

and was wondering if it uses SDHC cards aswell as normal SD cards... Cheers

Yes, I just tried that today and it works ok. Unfortunately the video seemed to freeze if I tried to FF or rewind very much. May have something to do with the transfer speed - I was using an 8gb key so I'd guess this may have been a bit slower than a smaller one.

I've had excellent results by sticking a 4gb SDHC card in a card reader and doing it this way though, both on the 405 & 605.

My new 605 WiFi (4gb) accepts a 16gb SDHC card. This was so prior to updating the firmware, and afterwards. 32gb SDHC cards are here, but not yet at reasonable prices.

I downloaded the pop video from limewire, then copyed and pasted it to the flash drive.
the battery and mini dock both work.

My 405 refuses to work with a Kingston Elite Pro 8GB SD card.

Anyone know of any 8 or 16GB cards that do work?

yep ive got one from the usa, its unbranded but sure its a pny. the 405 is defo sdhc compatible thats all i use, i have 2 toshiba 4bg class 4 cards and the 8gb unbranded.

Might be a better way I s'pose... I just want to find a decent priced 16Gb SDHC card that works....

But whatever you do... just don't phone Archos....
