Changing the forum design

Post by Charbax »

The spam is crap, and to implement Q&A registration finally, I have to upgrade the template, thus I might have to completely change the forum design, let me know if you find any that looks good on http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/

That design looked quite standard and readible. The grey fonts are a bit low contrast, but tolerable on most devices. The fonts seemed a bit small, especially on Firefox (maybe due to some override of mine).

The spam is absolutely through the roof. Any way to have email varification? Most of the email addresses look bogus. Also if you limit the time that someone can post links that would be great. No links until you have at least 5 posts and then a 5 day wait will let us root out a lot of these spammers.

I think there already is email verification, I don't think the no links thing works on phpbb by default. I will change the design and implement Q&A at registration, I just need to pick the best suitable template. At least temporarily until I can find someone who is able to upgrade the current design to work with the latest phpbb software.

As kodiak said, its unbearable now, posting is no longer an option - if you turn your back for 10 mins there is an influx again.
Anyways As i said yesterday i think you should go with a vanilla type and mod it at your leisure, this way we may get more updates in the future as a vanilla skin has more chance of being updated than a custom one.
