Arnova 10 Slingplayer stopped working after firmware update.

Has anyone else experienced this? I updated the firmware on my Arnova 10 and it looks and works great. Previously, I downloaded the slingplayer.apk to my laptop and then copied it to system/APK/COMMON. Although the picture quality was just OK, it worked fine otherwise. After the firmware upgrade [For Arnova 10: update.img version 1.1.7 (110512)], I uninstalled and re-installed the slingplayer.apk. The install worked fine, however it doesn't work. I don't want to spend the $30.00 yet since I already purchased it for my HTC Incredible2 and my Itouch.
