I just received my used Archos 70 Internet tablet on Friday. I had no trouble getting the android market up and running and updating Flash. It was already running Froyo. I have a couple of problems. 1) I put in a 2GB micro sd and it won't show it under setting (storage). I formatted it, and attempted to "Mount" it, but it never does anything after I hit Mount SD card. How can I get it to recognize it? It always just says that it is safe to remove the sd card. 2) When I attempt to download from my computer using the USB cable (mainly trying to sync songs from Media Player for now), the usb screen comes up and then when I hit mount it will show a working symbol and never connect. On my home computer...it connected once and showed the Archos was connected, but wouldn't allow me to sync. On my laptop, it never stops working as first stated. 3) I bought by Archos used so it won't allow me to do Apps Lib because my Archos is already registered. I put in the serial # and product key, but I still can't access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Good evening. I'm sorry I can't answer your questions as I am also a Newbie. I posted the following last week and have been hoping someone would reply, but it hasn't happened. When I saw your post tonight I thought maybe someone would take pity on both of us and respond. I apologize up front it I've broken any rules, or stepped on any toes! Here is my original post:
Hello. I am an extreme newbie to tablet computers. After I got my Archos A101 I went crazzy downloading apps. Now I have all these apps and don't know how to use them, or what to do with them, and I need a lot of advice and help! Should I delete everything and start over with your (Allens's) set up proceedure? Is there an Archos 101 for dummies forum? Please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

kwalden, do you have any screen shots of what you are seeing?
I am assuming that when you plug in your archos to the PC, you do not see 2 new drives under my computer that you can add files to?
If not, are there unrecognized devices for USB under Device Manager on your PC?
@swekool39 - I am unsure what you are asking. If you had applications installed that you do not use / want, you can uninstall them through settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.

I don't have a screen shot. It says USB recognized(and has the little android character) and even gives me the mount option, but it just has the little working icon going and going and going. It never actually "mounts" and allows me to download and it doesn't show up under my computer. When I tried it on my home computer, the archos drive showed up....but nothing would transfer. The other question was the micro sd issue. It will not recognize my micro sd card. It doesn't show up on the settings/storage on my Archos. It will give me the option to format and mount the sd card (which I have done) , but it never shows as available storage and I'm assuming it should. There are also a couple of things I have tried to download (Amazon apps) that said it required an sd card when there is one in it. I just didn't know if I was overlooking a step of some kind. When I searched the forums....it mentioned giving it a file name, but I don't know where I would do that.
Thanks,
Kim

If the device shows up on one PC and not another (though you cannot transfer) it may be an issue with the PC or USB port - I assume you have tried another?
When you try to transfer files to the archos internal storage, do you get an error message? (can you drag and drop an album / some pictures / video's to your archos internal storage?
For the SD card, it should show up under "SD Card" when looking at Settings -> Storage. What kind of card is it? Mine is a 16 GB class 4 Sandisk. If you power off the archos, and remove teh card, reseat the card, and reboot does it appear?
