Waiting for my Archos 101 16 gb

Hello everyone!! Tomorrow I will receive my brand new Archos 101 16 gb, since I dont know anything about the device and its new upgrades, instalations etc. I have some questions for you:

1. Which is the new upgrade Android 2.1.2 or Android 3.0?
2. What does Frodo means and how does it work? diferenses?
3. What shall I change on the device for it to work as good as posible?

It says that you can use a mass storage external hard drive on the device, on its websight, also there is a video proving it. What kind of models do you guys recomend? Does it work with all of them?

Yes you can,just plug it into the usb port.

1.Latest update is 2.2 Froyo(Android 2.3.26)
2."Froyo" is a great firmware(firmware 2.2),its fast and uses very little resources.(leaves more resources for games and such.)
3.Depends on how its configured.

Theres really no good custom root for it yet,theres root for gen 8 devices in general,in which a 101 is a gen 8 device.I'm waiting on someone to create a root(read/write) for 101 specifically.

Run the AppsLib (which you find preinstalled) and install from the AppsLib an application called ArcTools. ArcTools will let you install the market and the other Google apps, which work perfectly.

My Archos came with the update 2.2.1

Is the market istalled then?

It doesnt let me install it
