Thumb Keyboard Alternate Keys

I upgraded to the latest version of Thumb Keyboard. When I long press to get the alternate key, some window pops up and I can't seem to get the 2nd character. Before I would just long press and the 2nd character would be typed. Anyone else have this problem and a solution?
