Brief blurb from listing:

I am selling my well loved Archos 70 which I have owned since Nov 2010. Since then it has been well used but well looked after. I am only selling it to get seed money for another related purchase. This is the 8GB version as opposed to the thicker, heavier 250GB version. It comes with a micro SD card slot for additional storage.

I actually love this device and it has been one of my favourite purchases of a gadget ever. I use it daily and it rarely leaves my side when at home. I will be selling it with a very tough tuff-luv case that allows the Archos 70 to be placed in a portrait or landscape position on a table. Making it ideal for holiday movie watching.

Things I have used the Archos 70 for:

1) Web browsing. Ideal for day to day browsing. Flash can be installed fairly easily. I mostly use it to keep up to date with google reader and various news sites.

2) Email checking. Using Google Mail (easily installed) and the normal email client. Ideal for regular email checking. Fine for sending short email replies. Probably not so good for sending very long emails.

3) eBook reading. Using fbreader or Aldiko. Have read full novels with the nice and sharp backlit display. In all honesty better for reading shorter fiction. There is a choice of PDF readers for android which work better than expected on a seven inch screen.

4) Game playing. Angry birds. Need I say more. I have played a few of the 3D games they seem to run well enough.

5) Movie watching. Took it on a weeks caravan holiday with an SD card full of films. The wee one loved it. Has played every movie file I have thrown at it (h264 and xvid) without trouble.

6) Podcast / Internet Radio. Used in the kitchen when doing dishes. With the Android app store installed (easily done) it can be used for so much more.
