Hello, This is just happened as i was transfering some of the photos from one file to photos FILE. next thing i noticed that my photo file has been vanished and could not locate. Then there was a message that this file could be on hard drive.
Now when i hookup my archos to my computer initially i get the error message (error code 0x8000000a) preventing to be displayed. Then when i open my f drive where i have archos hooked up, i can see other files but not the photo file, which has some of my photos loaded.
Can someone help so i can recover my lost file on the archos 500.
thanks

looks like there is a corruption in the file allocation table. It is important not to write anything to the archos drive if there are files you must recover. If you still have all the photos on your pc it is not important. Two things you can try, a file recovery program if there are photos on the archos that are not backed up

or

if everything is backed up, the other is a checkdisk as described in the archos manual, although personally if the corruption is so far gone I would back up the archos system folder and format the whole archos drive then and restore all the contents.
