is it possible to replace the 8 GB SSD...

Post by icebaba2001 »

Hi,

is it possible to replace the 8GB SSD with a bigger one?
I love the A70 but the 8GB is defenetly not enough, I am also using a 16GB mSD...
so it would be interesting to know, if it is possible...maybe a 60GB or a 120GB...

It isn't actually a SSD like a computer SSD. It's a Flash chip that's soldered onto the board.

If you know how to desolder and use the same brand of chips, it may not be IMPOSSIBLE, just probably impractical. =-/

So you are saying breakout the spudger and soldering iron and go to town?
I am also pretty sure it would void the warranty.

I was letting him know what was involved. It's up to him to make his decision. ;-]

In the past archos has locked down the harddrives to the serial number of the device. Don't know if same here, but something to consider.

Also, there is a 250gb version if you really want more storage.
