I bought the last Archos 43 from SimplyElectronics today (Paid $269). I waited awhile, unsure of the company, but when I saw there was only one left, I ordered it through paypal, which is an extra layer of protection. I asked for expedited shipping to receive it by Christmas. I will believe the best. There are no others available that I know of in the US. Last but not least!

This is exactly where I am at. If Archos does not get it's collective poo in gear and get units to a legitimate (ie, non-price gouging) retailer soon, my money will be going elsewhere. I have been waiting for this thing since late September (when it was said that it would be released in early October) and have yet to see a single unit actually in stock anywhere. I have been waiting almost a month on Archos' own notification list for over a month with not a single peep.

I am about ready to go a different direction. As much as I would like to try the 43, I am not infinitely patient.

The Archos 43 is in stock now at SimplyElectronis.net. Sucks for me my money is at Newegg.com ready to get the Archos 43. Waited for 3 Months already for this MP3 and it has never came out at Newegg.com. Disappointed in Archos product! But I'm still waiting for it.

So I sent my A43 for RMA to Archos about 20 days ago, they had not sent is back yet. Called them today and csr stated that they'll get more stock next week and my unit will be shipped back in the next 7 days.

So looks like it'll be in stock in the next week or so.

Well I ordered mine from simplyelectronics too because i got tired of waiting. About how long did it take to arrive and is it a trustworthy site?

EDIT: And i think that the availability number on simplyelectronics is lying because once i purchased mine when there was one left, it went up to 16 left.

I've ordered mine 18 december and I finally got today an email from them that it is shipped..

Is this a reputable place? the price seems too good to be true also. Never heard of them until now. It also seems the domain was registered in November 2010.

I placed an ordered with them yesterday, then I called them directly to find out if they actually had any in stock. The site says they're based out of Minnesota. I talked to the woman who was pretty helpful and she didn't know for sure if they had any in stock she would have to ask another person who deals with their shipment and they should email me within 24-48 hours.

So I decided to have them cancel my order until I can confirm that they have it and how long it would take. I didn't want my money tied up with a company I never heard of once places like amazon start getting them in.

So if I don't hear anything back from them by tomorrow I'll call them again. BTW, I'm in Virginia, USA and the shipping and handling fee was $19.00!, so the price ended up being $233, I guess that's how they get the extra cash.
