Simple Poll: is your device better or worse after the Froyo Upgrade (2.0.54)?

Having the a101 for some weeks now i like the 2.2. Before it was good now it is even better.
Everything working within my network (no windows), playing ts-files from dreambox, wifi without problems.
setting cpu to 1000 ..... never have lags now.
youtube working with browser, the apk keeps crashing.
access to market working with the new apk.
root working with z4root.
Tethering works with nokia n97 mini via bluetooth and usb.
Mounting a101 as disk on linux via usb working.
i bought the cinema plugin, this remained on the tablet even after complete formatting for the update.
only issue is a problem with usb host, but this already started under 2.1 before the update.

With everything working, i think the wifi might be weaker now and its silly that i have to root/setcpu every boot. Ah yeah, seems google maps gps may not show as much data as before.

Glad with the larger app space(?) though. flash access, froyo apps, and possibly better performance. We just need root next!

We have two 101, and 2.2 is working great here. I suspect that the problems people are having are caused by installation errors or previously existing/incompatible configuration info. I did a bare metal install (volume+power wipe and firmware load), so it's like a factory install froyo device. It's the method I recommend for anyone unhappy with their upgrade experience.

Are your101s running at the full 1GHz? Have you tried to play any flash videos? Right now its the performance that is bugging me. I haven't found a video yet that runs acceptably, even at 1GHz.

The side-loaded flash isn't optimized for the platform, so right now it's only for basic functionality. For example, access to web sites that stupidly have flash menus with no graceful fall-back. It probably isn't using the hardware accelerator at all. Can't complain about that because it's not the software that Archos released. If the Archos flash is also slow, then that would be a valid complaint.

If you follow the steps below you can download the YouTube app from the Market and it will work:

Im using flash from market, it works okish. first couple seconds of video chop, device is unresponsive while doing it, but then it smooths out so long as its on low quality.

Worse. Asphalt 5 and Home run 3D run MUCH slower than with the previous firmware. Dungeon Hunter HD is now so slow that it's completely unusable. Also, my device never once froze or forced closed before, now it's a common occurrence... It seems like a very very unstable build. Essentially this device as it is can only be used by advanced and tech savvy users. I can't imagine them selling it via retailers. Return rate will skyrocket. I only wish I could downgrade. All this talk about flash is nonsense cause it's a budget tablet not a high end device. Even many notebooks are struggling with hulu and such. However we should all reasonably expect that the apps we purchased from market run ok.
