Has anyone had this porblem when they have unstalled the new firmaware ver. 1.2.05. To be more specific, right after I installed this update into my 604 and restarted it, the Archos symbol and a black blackground had been present their for a while. I tried restarting it and tuned it on, but it is still there. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Never mind, I was able to reformat it and fix it. I will also post up a review shortly when I have some time.

take out the battery and press the reset button, then thurn it on and then I just pressed the TV LCD button, and then this screen popped up and gave me the option to reformat and two other options. Make sure whe you do this be ready to hook it up your device to your computer. Not too sure if this is right I just started to press a bunch of random buttons right after I rested it and turned it on.

Sounds strange. Hopefully you just had some early batch with pre-release firmware, so hopefully most people won't have this problem when updating the firmware.. It would confuse people..

Did you have the device in any way disconnected from the usb port when updating the firmware? Maybe it would be best to have the AC/DC adapter plugged in when updating the firmware but since that one is only available on the 30$ docking station, might be a good reason to bundle it..

I think the reason I had that problem before was I didn't install the firmaware properly but still I am not sure.

I am most likely going to buy the AC/DC, don't like charging from the comp

Lol
