How do you get Itunes files to play?
Do I need to purchase pluggins to play these files

Are we talking video or audio?
Apple I think likes the mp4 format (I'm not sure since I've never bought an Apple product and probably never will...) which this device does not support. You would need to convert it to .avi (use divx/xvid) as your safest bet.

There's a podcast plugin, which may or may not enable standalone AAC. Check with Archos.

Another other option is to use iTunes to convert your audio to mp3.
