Hi im kind of new to the archos 7 HT, But have managed with new firmware from dom and a big thanx to him. But i having trouble with my sdcard.
I have had it since i`ve got it. It only stands "sdcard unmounted" if i have it inserted or not. Doesn`t matter.

i`ve tried.: 1. Format the sdcard in all different filesystems. FAT32,NTFS, and ExFAT. But doesn`t work
2. Format the archos with fat32, and ntfs. Doesn`t work.
3. Tried installing new firmware from the archos website, and ofc dom`s firmware v.3 and this doesn`t work.

I hope the someone can answear me. Because this is the only thing bugging my head on the archos device.

I had picked up a cheap one, it hads worked fine before installing firmware. Thought maybe a sandisk would be better since tthat"s what i use in my ceel. Does it also say your internal memory is full and can't download any apps?

Have you tested the microSD in another device or with PC - does it work?!
BTW: The card definitely needs to be formatted with FAT32.
I use V0.2.1. (rooted with bigger app space) for weeks w/o any (real) problem...
(My 8GB microSD is from Kingston, bought from Amazon for Ôé¼ 14,-- - works like a charm.)

V0.2.1 is Sir Dom's FW with root and bigger app space...

My microSD and 7HT are working perfectly together, no matter if I boot with the card inserted or remove/add it while running.

I'd try copying some data to the card with the PC, insert it in the 7HT (off), boot and look with Files app if I can find it on the SDcard.

Note: You'll see no new drive or else with inserted card, just the SDcard folder then links to the card instead of the virtual SDcard (from 7HTs internal memory/storage).

Don't know whether this will help anyone or not, but I've noticed that if the A7HT is connected to the PC, you cannot access the internal or external memory. When you remove, (disconnect), the device from the PC, media library updates and the files and drives are accessible again.

I ran into a similar issue when I "side-graded" from SirDom's firmware to the latest Archos FW. No matter what card I inserted, the unit would return "damaged SD card" (or somtething like that) - couldn't mount anything. After several upgrade/downgrade attempts, I wound up wiping the unit from my PC - deleting every folder on the unit - before re-applying the Archos FW. That made all the difference. Cards mount just fine now.

I know iam pushing an old thread but I have to cause I think I have the exact same issue as the people in this thread.

Have big Problems with my 7`and the sd card, problem started after installing custom firmware yar027.

First I wasn't able to detect the sd card internal, also formating internal did not work. But I was able to access through usb...but after flashing back to original firmware and flashing back custom firmwares (thought its an software/firmware problem) I wasnt able any more to access sd card through usb. Now when I connect usb ,the internal storage (at least i think so) appears in my explorer. Here is the point where Iam in big trouble, thought the solution would be, as mentioned above, to delete the internal storage. But my problem is when I try to access this storage my explorer forces me to format the drive, which is of course okay cause i want to delete everything anyway...but when i push the format button i get an error message that it can not format the drive... and this is where iam stuck...need to delete the internal storage but cant access it! :(

tried it through cmd with format x: but no luck there too.

Need your help guys
