In case a picture is not clear enough: I've used the car holder to fix my Archos to a window, which is (conveniently) located near the bed. This allows me to watch movies without holding the device in my hands. I'm yet to test if I can use the BT keyboard (Logitch diNovo mini) to flip pages in a book (FBReader).

Excellent idea there. I use a gooseneck holder that I modified to attach to my headboard. It's so convenient, because you must know how tired your arm gets while holding it above your face in bed. Just ordered the DVR Snap On too, soon I'll be able to watch TV on it too while in bed.

Yep.

DVR Snap-on - record only - no output.
Battery dock - output only - no input.

Maybe you mean DVR Docking Station?

Except that anything you stick onto the base of the Archos will stop you using the car mount (or maybe with glue?).

You're right, no output. Right now I'm using the DVR Station to watch TV on my archos in the bedroom. I just connect a cable box to it via composite and go into the video recording function and voila, TV on the archos. I just don't record it, although I could if I want to. The only problem is that the DVR Station is too bulky to attach it to any kind of holder, so that's where the Snap On comes in. It still won't fit in the car holder, but once again, no problem, I'm using a modified GPS holder for the archos 5 IMT.
