Commitments wanted for 604wifi leather case
Guys and Gals...
We will be happy to produce a case for the 604 wifi if the Archos community can show enough support to justify it.
Basically what we'd need is a commitment from at least 150 users. Now this does not sound like a lot but believe me, I can almost guarantee that 150 users will not reply to this thread with a verbal commitment.

Sorry, i should have elaborated my question: has Mistic a delegation in Europe? Shipping from the US would make the case much more expensive than the Archos leather case.martinjay wrote:Are european users welcome?Forget it...no europeans...
just kiddin'.... Why wouldn't they? They ship their stuff all over the world.
If it's anything like your 504/604 case, I'm in!

Same here. I have two 604 wifi's in my household and we are both looking for a good case. I would just ask that it have a stylus holder and that the bottom cut outs be a little wider. My Archos USB cable would not snap in all of the way with the 604 case. I love the hook on it so please keep the rest of the design the same. I don't think the battery slider cut out is needed either.

This thread would work better as a poll
You would get more responses if you changed this thread into a poll. I am in the market for a case.
I had the same thought when splitting this off the 504/604 thread. But he said verbal commitment. Everyone can vote without having to order one. That's not giving an accurate result. I think he wants to nail it down before starting to make it. But let's wait 'til Jeff is around to clear things up.You would get more responses if you changed this thread into a poll. Wow. Either your stitching is a little different or you are just very patient to wait a couple of months! There was no way I could make that work. The right side of the screen sticks up about 1/4 inch and it just looked sloppy - kind of cockeyed too because of the pull from the bump. I didn't want my nice looking device to look like it was crammed into the wrong case. I love the design and build just a little off for my wifi. It did fit on the DVR station with the adapter off but the USB cable would not stay in - it has shorter prongs.

Hey Gang,
If we get enough response here (100 seperate individuals) willing to commit to a purchase, we will create a case for the 604 wifi.
This is also a great thread to discuss the features you'd like to see on the case. You are basically designing what you'd like to have :D
If produced, the case will be the same quality as the designs we currently have for the 604, 504 and 404 and the same price, $19.95US and we do ship worldwide. Shipping to Europe is generally $3-$10US so you will still have your case for about half of what Noreve charges.
Someone take the reins, get commitments, keep a log of design ideas and we may get this off the ground.
Turn around time from design to delivery is approx. 4 weeks depending on whether or not the manufacturer has a sample/dummy of the player. If they don't and I have to send them the player then we need to add a couple of weeks onto that time.

I don't know if you are going to get 100 diffferent people to respond to ths message, but I'm in.
Here are the features I'd like to see:
1. The case shouldn't add too much size since the 604WF is pretty big as it is. I know it can't be paper thin, but you should strive for the balance of small size, small bulk, good protection, and long durability.
2. I'd like to be able to plug in all my acccessories without having to take the case off. This is probably a difficult design problem, especially in the case of the DVR Station.
3. Stylus storage.
4. A front flap, or some other way of protecting the screen when its off or not being viewed.
5. A non bulky way to keep the case closed. I use a Sena case for my PDA that has magnetic "clasps" and it works great. The 604 is a HD based device so maybe magnets isn't a great idea, but then again its never been an issue for my PDA. Not sure what the best solution here is...
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. I'll edit the post if I think of any more.
