archos 604 playback freezing after 2 minutes please help

my archos has developed an annoying fault. It starts up ok and i can put films in ok,
but after 2 mnutes of playback it freezes. When i forward movie it again plays for 2 minutes then freezes.

I have checked rippon connection and also formated drive, even reinstalling the firmware but problem is still there. Any help would be most welcome

have you ran scan disk, also check for hhd bad sectors on the check.
is it only one or all files?
