I have the newest firmware and I want the firmware that actually came with the Archos 5 out of box. At least it was able to play youtube.

http://archos.g3nius.org/index.php?titl ... 5_firmware

A simple search would have lead you to this URL.

The earliest firmware you can download is 1.6.53, AFIK they never had the factory installed 1.6.04 up for download.

And currently YouTube and other websites are switching/have switched to flash 10.1. Archos hasn't had time to compile the flash 10.1 package yet, (if ever) since it was only released for mobile CPUs this year. In the mean time you can use http://www.youtube.com/xl it is meant for web capable TVs, but IMHO it looks better on the A5 compared to the normal YouTube.
