is a firmware update coming?

Well, the topic says it... does anyone know (and not only wish for one) if there will be a firmware update for the archos 3 vision, since there are a few bugs, especially with ogg vorbis?

I would have to say yes since there is an option in the device for this to happen. Having said that has archos ever had a device with the option to upgrade the firmware and not used it before?

I for one bought the device in good faith expecting that improvements would be made for a period of time.

actually i think there wont be any further upgrades to the firmware -
reason being if you check the archos website you will find there is actually NO listing in the downloads section for the 3 and 2.
also the machines have been out for some time now and no improovements have been made.
the 3 imho is a solid little machine and just works, but it would be nice to get better codec support and fix a couple of bugs with the machine.

I would hope one is coming. I bought the Vision 3, it died in 3 days, they sent me a "swap" unit last week. The original device had a TV Setting under "Settings." This swap unit does not. I would say there must already be two different firmware revisions since one has TV settings and this one does not. Personally, I would like to see a TV setting since Archos CLAIMS the device does TV Out.

The expectation is that archos will improve on this product with firmware to gain customer loyalty. As the saying goes once bitten twice shy. Well, they advertised TV out and have not delivered yet? Why wouldn't they offer a Car mode (larger sized skip song button) to correct a safety issue with the porduct? It would be nice to see playlists but my work around has solved this issue for me.

Bottom line if TV out never works on the device then bye bye archos.
