AV500 Recording with "P" symbol.. Protected Video?

hi everyone! ive just become a AV500 and i think its a superb gadget! anyways gonna jump to the topic of recording. I noticed a "P" symbol apear whilst recording through S-Video from a dvd player and ive noticed that it doesnt happen when recording through composite. now the problem is that it plays fine on the player, but when i transfer it onto my pc or any pc, i get a message saying "Protected Video File" in certain players and others it will play the sound only with a black screen. anyone know anything about this please post any suggetions. thanks! :wink: [/b]

The DVD video you are copying to you AV500 is protected by a copyright potection method called Macrovision, I wont bore you with the ins and outs of it however it was designed originally to stop people copying DVDs to VHS.
The Archos is desiged to detect when you record from a macrovision protected DVD and therefore limit you using only on your player and not copying it to any other archos or your PC.
