URGENT av700tv power adapter question

i had a LOT of trouble registering that security image is way to hard to read!

i have an archos av700 tv which uses a power supply that is 6 volts 2
amps that power supply is dead i do have an archos charger for an
older model (an av500 same connector) that outputs 5volts
1.8 amps is it safe to use? i really need to answer this before 5pm (2
hours 45 minutes from now) as im going to work then and i use the
archos to stop bordem in my 14 hour shift ( im a night guard)

logic tells me it should be safe as its a lower voltage (but will take longer to charge) but im no electrician so really need to know if its safe

Hi because the voltage and out put current is lower the charger will overheat so I would not use it
