Can't delete video files, nor play them

Post by Fanvan »

Hi,

What I have done so far:

- updated the firmware
- downloaded cinema plug-in

Now I am trying to copy dvd's from the PC to the Archos in dragging all .vob files from Video_TS file to the video file on the Archos. The problems I have are:

1. when I click on one of the .vob files on the archos to play the video I get the sandclock which keeps running
2. trying to delete the .vob files from the Archos I get the message "can't delete, remove write-protection"
2.1 I read on the forum that the write protection can be lifted through right click on each file an deselect the "read only" box => that choice is not highlighted, so I can't change it.

Many thanks for any help and appologies if the problems have been dealt with in another post, but all I found didn't work in my case.

Solved the problem: I had to change the USB Preference to "PC Hard Drive". Now I can copy or delete the .vob files. But still did not manage to play a mivy which I copied to the Archos. Either it does not play the audio, or it plays to video to fast.

problem maybe in video itself
my suggestions is to reboot machine and then try to delete and if no use http://www.longpathtool.com
