Does AV700 share same size power connector as anything else

Hi Folks ........... Does anyone know or is there a website somewhere that tells me if any the more popular electonic items (can be anything) share the same size power connector (DC in) plug size as an Archos AV700 ??

As I recall, it's a 1/4-inch barrel connector (or 6mm, or whatever the metric size is). Anyhow, it's extremely common. But it's 5V, and that is not particularly common. I think you might have to be very lucky to find another item which has a similar requirement. The AV700 is a big beastie, and probably needs at least 1 Amp, which is outside the range of most cheap universal chargers.

In the UK at least you can still get replacement chargers for the AV700 from, e.g., newmp3technology. But they're a bit pricey.

PS. I can tell you what _won't_ fit: the chargers from any other Archos model All the later ones use a smaller connector.

I think its a little bigger connector, nearer 10mm (3/8"). It actually requires 6V (though 5V will power it) & i'm in agreement that 1amp being the minimum. I've tried USB connection but because its limited with USB its not enough.
