connecting to tv to record

Got the 405 bundle from QVC

when I connect to TV to record and press the record function, I get a graphic showing the tv with a cross thru the connection line ie it is not connected.

I can connect to TV and play things from the device no problem - just cant record !!
any ideas

You need something that outputs a signal - eg freeview box/sky/dvd player. Its likely that your scart connection on the tv is in only. Have a look if any scarts output from the tv - in which case you will probably need a scart adaptor as that didn't come with the QVC kit.

In all likelihood though you'll need to connect the 405 to something like a freeview box (again using a scart adaptor - around £3 in Tesco).

I have the same problem. When I use the Travel Adaptor to try and record TV I get sound through the ear phones on the 405 2G but have no picture. There is a cross between the TV and the Archos on the symbol on the Archos screen. Have you any ideas what to do? I have tried connecting to the scart on the TV, the Sky Box, my DVD player and my Freeview box. The only thing I have not changed is the scart to 3 phono connector. Help would be appreciated please?
