real benefits of boothack

Post by CPUnltd »

I am curious... what are the biggest benefits of switching the pma430 from the default firmware to OpenPMA? I just got my 430 in the mail this morning and I am generally loving the default stuff... Before I played with it, I was set on switching out the firmware, but now I'm not so sure. I actually have it working with a wireless media center remote (with no-line-of-site usb adaptor + host cable)... Just wanna know what OpenPMA truly offers. TIA!!!

I've been happy with the default and am not going to change what works!
I'm on Wifi easy as pie and love the programs on it.
I agree with you.

You'll get a harddisk driver that actually works. The official firmwares will crash frequently and corrupt your filesystem. Plus there are many more enhancements. Everything the PMA can do, openPMA can do. You don't lose any functionality at all.
